The Frontier Motel existed in Carson City since the 1940s. Located on 1718 North Carson St., it was often referred to as being "on the edge of town." The motel was notable for its neon buckaroo sign with swinging lasso. A motel that used to serve the middle class coming by on Highway 395 now mostly serves lower-income residents who need a room. Though Yelp reports that this motel is closed, an article says states that, after some remediation, it will come back into operation soon. This was last said in 2021.
